Christmas Dinner Party
To create a circus variety show to perform between courses at a large scale Christmas Party. The shows would run nightly for three weeks, providing entertainment for guests between courses.
Each act should build in intensity until the final after-dinner show, which would lead to guests dancing and partying the night away.
We were also told that individual parties may also be allowed to book supplementary walkabout acts if they required.
Taking inspiration from the many variety and burlesque cabaret shows that were taking the city by storm at the time, Sorcha Productions devised its very own tour de force to rival the competition.
Sequins and glitter, with a touch of sexiness and a glimmer of sass, were the order of the evening. First off, a juggling show like no other – this pinstripe suited gent meant business with LED hoops, batons, frisbees and basketballs all being tossed, flung and somehow miraculously caught in quick succession to appropriate cheers before the starters came out.
Before the main course, star-spangled aerial silks twisted and twirled high above the guests’ tables, a shimmering duo spun in a whirlwind of white and sparkles danced around each other on an aerial hoop.
The main course was alight with Les Femmes Fatal bringing glamour and fire to the floor with their fire-twirling, eating and poi-spinning, their red sequined costumes flickering in the firelight.
A jangle of chains and not a lot of clothing left the crowd’s jaws dropping, for more than one reason. Aerial straps were replaced with chains for a stunning acrobatic aerial dance performance.
This was the first in a series of 8 years of shows produced specifically for the award winning Bloomsbury Big Top venue.
“…I gave her quite a hard brief but she came up trumps. Sorcha project managed the whole event and looked after the acts, which left me to look after the clients. The entertainment was excellent”
